Description

When two powerhouses partner up, you get an impressive IEM with the perfect tonal balance across the frequency range. Introducing the 7Hz x Crinacle Salnotes Dioko. This spectacular in-ear monitor has been designed by combining 7Hz’s audio technology with Crinacle’s (a renowned audio reviewer in the Hi-Fi audio world) experience with tuning measurements in in-ear monitors.

Impactful & Impressive Tuning
Powerful bass, neutral mids and natural treble, these define the Salnotes Dioko’s sound. Structural tuning mechanics create an impact while maintaining monitor-like accuracy. The special planar magnetic drivers shine with incredible detail and airiness. It follows Crinacle’s own definition for natural and balanced IEMs that make it perfect within the studio and outside.

A Magnetic Sound
Experience a tight, natural, and transparent sound with the Salnotes Dioko. Its highly sensitive N55 magnet with a double-sided array configuration offers a spectacular performance. Along with the engineered magnetic circuit structure, it maximises the effective magnetic flux to drive the current efficiently.

Planar Magnetic Diaphragm
Along with its high-end magnetic circuitry, the Salnotes Dioko also features a newly developed 14.6mm dual-cavity planar diaphragm. This works with the circuit and ribbon distribution for a uniform sound that’s rich in details and clarity. Its large size increases the surface area for reduced harmonic distortion ensuring high audio resolution across all volume levels.

Designed like Exquisite Jewellery
An intricately carved, CNC-machined aviation-grade aluminium shell ensures superior comfort and noise isolation. The surface undergoes a high-class oxidation treatment for added durability and wear resistance. To enhance its look, 7Hz has fitted the Salnotes Dioko with the very same tempered glass used in luxury watches. A sapphire coating and anti-fingerprint process create a look of profound beauty.

Premium Cable for Clear Sound
The Salnotes Dioko comes with a 4-core Litz structure cable. A mix of 216 copper and silver-plated copper wires are individually coated to ensure high-quality audio transmission. It offers a clean tone for a dynamic sound that focuses on the hit of bass and the airiness of the treble. These IEMs also come with a large box that’s practical and environment-friendly.

Planar Wars: Episode V - Uncle Crin Strikes Back

First of all, thanks to The Audio Store for confirming that the batches ordered by them weren’t affected by the “filter fiasco.” I can confirm that the set I have received has the correct set of filters and it sounds as it was intended to when tuned by Crinacle.

I have used the Tin P1 Plus, 7hz Timeless, and LETSHUOER S12 before getting this set. Speaking from personal experience, the Dioko fits like a glove for me (small ears) when paired with the default tips installed out of the box (or Spinfit CP360 - Large) and provides an excellent passive seal. The tuning brings the midrange a lot more forward than the Timeless/S12 and isn’t nearly as sibilant. If you EQ these sets to the Harman/Crinacle target, you get very similar technicalities and sound staging to the Dioko (you’d get a hair bit of better resolution in the lower frequencies on them but the Dioko still resolves more in the midrange). I still use the S12 for when I want to listen to something less analytical and impactful because the Dioko sounds very sterile and “thin” (not anaemic though, don’t get me wrong). Dioko is arguably a market breaker because it has better resolution than any set in the sub 100 USD range (Moondrop Aria/Snow, Tripowin Olina, Dunu Titan S, etc). As Crin said himself, “BUY DIOKO!”

7Hz-Salnotes x Crinacle Dioko - Review

1) Flagship-worthy SQ under ₹10K. Gets even better with some EQ. (I believe there are no filter issues with my unit. Anyway I ended up EQing it to its original target i.e. IEF Neutral with Bass Shelf.)
2) Excellent cable. Wish it came with a 2.5/4.4 mm termination.
3) Not-so-good tips. Ended up using it with SpinFits.
4) Bonkers carry case, unexpected for the price.
5) Looks and fit can be polarizing but have excellent build quality. Straight outta Wakanda.
6) 88 dB/mW sensitivity @ 16Ω , so mild amplification is required. Paired excellently with Audirect Atom 2.
7) Imaging, Resolution, Slam, Soundstage, Speed, Texture, and Timbre all are good.
