A beast in its genre

The Dunu Titan S was bought after doing a bit of research and watching several Youtube reviews. Most of them spoke very highly about this iem. In one of the reviews, there was a comparison with the Moondrop Aria which I have. So I thought to try this out. And I must say, I was totally blown by its performance.
The IEM itself has a robust build, a retro-punk design, and a reasonably comfortable fit. The stock cable is pretty decent and they have provided several additional ear tips to play with. The nozzle is slightly more extended and so goes deep into the ear canal. The Titan has been made with good aesthetics and feels solid and premium.

Sound
I have several iems with balanced armatures, piezoelectric drivers, hybrids and a few single dynamic driver ones. The TItan stood out at the top in comparison to all the IEMs in its class. It has a beautifully tuned, well-balanced sound signature. The sub-bass had a good presence, the mid-bass was warm and punchy. No bleeding at all. In the mid-range, the upper highs were clean and natural and the treble had this airiness and naturality. No audible sibilance. Both male and female vocals stood out clean and deep. Without EQ enhancement, the signature had nice neutrality. This iem doesn't need coloring for any genre of music.
The soundstage was quite wide and I could clearly distinguish the separation and imaging. Sufficient depth too. Easily driven. The 4.4mm balanced out on the Fiio M11 Plus bundled with MQA tracks on Spotify brought out the beast in Titan. I could hear nuances and subtle tones unheard in some iems, quite clearly in this output.
There was no wear fatigue at all despite its solidity.
For those aspiring audiophiles, the Dunu Titan S would be a pleasant surprise. In fact, a reference IEM that has good musicality. Not laid back, not too bright, very well-balanced IEM. A must-buy for music enthusiasts.

Clean, natural and beautiful - Value package !!

After several days of tests, I'm finally reviewing the DUNU Titan S. 🙂

Its a balanced, close to neutral yet very pleasing sound signature. If you expect this bit, you will really be happy with your purchase decision.

I needed to catch a break from my otherwise bright & aggressive set of IEMs, hence needed a relaxed and smooth listening experience, that's when I came across the Titan S. I did speak to Pritam and mentioned my requirement and confirmed my understanding with him before clicking on 'Buy'.

Pros:
-Excellent fit, super comfortable and ergonomic
-Zinc alloy metal build, stunning cyberpunk themed design & aesthetic appeal
-Well tuned, balanced, smooth sound signature
-Easy to drive, using a DAC will bring out its full potential
-Airy and pleasant listening with wider than usual soundstage
-Vent is present yet no sound leakage
-Gaudy and cool looking pleather case, along with variety of ear tips

Cons:
-Cable could have been better (but its detachable hence can be replaced)

Let's talk about the sound.
Bass:
Not designed for bassheads yet there is a slight bass presence, despite a neutral tuning the impact can be felt with liveliness.

Mids:
Vocals are well presented and natural. Nowhere do the instruments sound thinner or metallic.

Highs:
Dunu being one of the oldest Chi-Fi brands, has done some magic in their tuning to make a single dynamic driver brilliantly treble efficient. Details in the music are retrieved very well yet without any fatigue, harshness, or sibilance (at least on most streaming services).

Overall Tonality, timbre and vocal clarity are top notch for the price segment. Imaging is good and layering is okay but cannot complain at this price. This does a wonderful job as a clean sounding IEM across the frequency range.
I haven't felt the need to apply EQ to this yet as the tuning now meets my taste.

Conclusion:
If you're looking to start out in this hobby as an audiophile, this would be a great starting IEM. Or if you want to experience neutral & balanced reference grade tuning with smooth and relaxing sound this is probably the best value for money in this price range.
Note that this IEM will hugely benefit from 10-20 hours of initial burn-in, pairing with a good DAC as a source and if you can upgrade the stock cable with any 2-pin style aftermarket multi-core cable. Have fun and thanks for reading.

Neutral & Analytical

Refined subtle bass (definitely not for bass lovers). Clean and neutral tonality. Natural timbre. Good soundstage. Very easy to drive. Exceptional build quality. Good list of accesories. If you want something analytical and neutral Titan S is perfect.

Awesome build with clean midrange and slightly bright treble

Pros:
-Clean neutral tuning with no bass bleed
-Durable build quality from one of top Chi-Fi brands
-3 sets of tips (Balanced, Vocal and Bass) in 3 sizes and nice case
Cons:
-Can be a tad bit bright for treble sensitive people
-Nozzle length a bit longer than average
-Not for bassheads

I started my journey with CCA CRA and BLON BL-03 both highly rated sets. Even after buying the Titan S, I still love the CRA's deep sub-bass for rock/metal music and BL03's warm/full vocals for vocal/pop music. If you are happy with your current set don't feel compelled to spend more as it's a case of diminishing returns when going up the price ladder.

I wanted to explore the better technicalities a more expensive set could offer. I choose Titan S over Aria because Aria is a bit warm and I was curious how a clean midrange sounds like and Titan S delivers that in spades. I can hear more detail and the tuning works for most of my library. IEMs are solid with no paint, a screw is used instead of glue to secure the shells. The cable feels a bit thin but rest of the package is very good.

It comes with set of red(bass) tips preinstalled, I used them for a day but they didn't work for my tastes. Then I tried the blue(vocal) tips, the vocals sound amazing but for some the tracks the treble brightness can be fatiguing. I tried the white(balance) tips last and they're perfect for long sessions of listening. I ran them from a phone and PC, so I am sure there is some room to explore still with DAC/AMP options.

Overall I am happy with the purchase and thanks to theaudiostore for making it available at nearly the same price(80USD) as the international market. It was delivered in 2days after shipping and the box was packed well.
