Enjoy high-quality audio almost anywhere with the NW-A55 Walkman Digital Audio Player from Sony. When you're on the move, the A55 can stream High-Res Audio wirelessly via Bluetooth using the LDAC and aptX HD codecs. High-Res Audio is meant to offer greater fidelity, with bitrates that surpass that of CD audio. Your music can be played from the A55's built-in 16GB of storage, an (optional) microSD card, or from your smartphone.
When streaming music from your smartphone, the A55 Walkman acts as a DAC; receiving, cleaning, and upscaling the music from your phone before sending it to your headphones. The A55 can also be used as a USB DAC with your desktop computer. Controlling your experience is meant to be intuitive and easy, thanks to the 3.1" touchscreen display and built-in buttons on the side of the player. With up to 45 hours of power on a full charge, you can listen all day, no matter where you go.
Engineering for Enhanced Sound
Even the physical construction of the A55 is meant to increase audio quality. Everything from the milled aluminium body and gold-plated circuit board, to the lead-free, gold-enhanced solder that's used to connect it all together. All of these features come together to provide powerful bass and clearer vocals.
Stylish & Ergonomic Design
The A55 Walkman features a curved aluminium body that's crafted to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.
Side Control Keys
Physical playback buttons on the side of the Walkman lets you play/pause, change music selection, and adjust the volume.
Vinyl Processor
With vinyl processing, you can choose to add the warmth and dynamic sound of listening to vinyl, to your digital files. This processing technology works to reproduce vinyl's low-frequency resonance, tone-arm resistance, and surface noise for an authentic experience.
MQA
The A55 Walkman supports MQA (Master Quality Authenticated), which is an audio format that compresses large studio-quality files without an audible loss, letting you experience music as it was intended
Noise Cancellation & Ambient Sound
On supported headphones, such as the Sony IER-NW500N/NE, the A55 Walkman can work with them to block out external sounds. They can also work together in Ambient Sound mode to let sound in when you need to hear your surroundings along with your music.
