Description
- Clean amplification with ultra-low distortion
- Fully-balanced architecture
- Ultra-low output impedance
- Massive output power
The Gustard H16 Amp follows hot on the heels of the Gustard X16 DAC, a DAC which implements the world’s first DAC chipset with an in-built MQA renderer. The X16 has been turning heads with its best-in-class SINAD rating. Every DAC needs an amp, and the H16 can be thought of as the X16’s partner in crime. It offers massive power without contributing noise or distortion.
The H16 uses a fully balanced architecture, making it perfect for anyone looking to power balanced headphones (especially power-hungry ones). With four outputs, three of which are balanced, it can accommodate an array of listening scenarios.
Massive output power
If you’re wondering if the H16 can drive your headphones, the answer is almost definitely yes. It delivers huge amounts of power at any impedance: 3700mW @ 64Ω, 2268mW @ 150Ω, 1133mW @ 300Ω, and 566mW @ 600Ω.
Clean amplification with ultra-low distortion
Gustard designed the H16 to pair with the X16 DAC. An ultra-clean DAC deserves an ultra-clean amp, and that’s exactly what they’ve provided.
The H16’s signal-to-noise ratio is over 118dB, meaning that you’d have to crank it to dangerously high levels to hear any hiss or other unwanted noise. To put that number in perspective, the loudness of a jackhammer is 110dB, an ambulance 120dB. So in any normal, healthy listening scenario, you’re going to hear nothing but pure signal.

Gustard is a company dedicated to research and development, aiming to offer high-performance audio desktop-grade DAC and amplifiers at affordable prices. Their products are ideal for music lovers who seek quality audio.
It's not often you come across products which may not be hyped, but surprises you with class-leading performance, and competes with products which are 3x its price. Gustard H16 is one such item, which can be considered to be a great headphone amplifier irrespective of the price bracket. This has a unique presentation, as it does not push the sound frequencies too much. At the same time, its neither mellow or dark, and is fairly neutral, just portraying the tonality of the DAC feeding this. Although not bass heavy, this provides a good and clean bass impact depending on the DAC. H16 sounds magical when driven from Ifi XDSD Gryphon variable (balanced) line out (through 4.4 to dual xlr cable). The vocals sound sweet and textured and there is great synergy with something like Hifiman Arya in this set-up. Other great benefits are - perfect channel matching through its relay controlled digital volume, useability with iems (recommended with 30 ohms or higher), remote control for convenience and so on. All in all this is a highly recommended buy. Thanks a lot for Pritam from TAS for providing a very competitive pricing for brand new authentic products.
Got the Gustard H16 a few days back. Have to thank pritam for personally handing over the amp. As of now, burn in of the amp is in progress as around 50 hours minimum burn in is recommended for it. The amp packs quite a bit of power and sounds very clean and open so far.

This was a gift for a friend of mine. The shipping took some time but when it reached them it was shipped the same day and after two days it was received. It came in perfect condition. I'll copy my friend's review below:
"This is most balanced IEM with a touch of warmth among everything out there. The Bass is just a bit much and with a 3db high-pass filter it became perfect. It doesn't get much better from this. The soundstage and imaging is decent and competes with +800$ stuff. The tuning, resolution and timbre is one of the best even under 2k. I'm very much in love with them. The comfort is pretty decent. I haven't got tired of them even after long hours."
The audio quality is very crisp and refreshing
The sound just amplified after using this with my kz castor pro IEMs....it is amazing.

Great product, strong magnet and holds the DAC snugly. Wish the 3M sticker was sold separately as well as already started to come off (user error).
the Detailed and balanced sound. then the design is so beautiful, the white version looks very good.
*What I liked the most:*
Clear sound at a volumes.
Good bass response, with focus on the sub-bass.
Tuning nozzles which make huge difference to the sound signature.
Good treble which is not harsh or sibilance.
Good soundstage & imaging performance.
Generous amount of ear tips to choose from.
High quality cable.
*Something that I didn't really like:*
Huge metal carrying case.
Ldac, hifi eq, durability, water proof rating
Quality

The amount you pay for this DAC is absolutely worth it. I'm using it with my PC, and I also have a Fiio KA13. It provides 32-bit 48000Hz audio output, and it's really good. I'm connecting it via a USB-C port and one extension cable (AGARO 3.5mm Aux Male to Female Extension Cable, Gold Plated). There’s no audio loss whatsoever.
The only minor issue is when you use it with a mobile device — the blue light can be a bit annoying. However, that's more of a personal preference. It also makes some noise with certain songs, but that's actually a known issue with the CS46L41 chip. There's no need to worry though; unless you've used a high-end DAC before, this will be more than enough for you.
Bass and clear vocals
😊
Excellent sound quality

After searching internet found this dac which has multiple input options and support 165*2 watts passive speakers and 350 watt passive subwoofer for future extension, tested with all input modes, bluetooth input feels a bit of low quality as it only supports sbc and aac codecs only, however if you want to use mobile via wired, alternative options 1. connect using Portronics Bridge Y USB 3.0 to Type C OTG Adaptor via USB A. 2. Use audiocular d08 cs-pro usb-c to 3.5 mm and 3.5 mm to rca input (cable creation brand). Optical input mode supports PCM (loss less stereo output) and Digital compress audio multichannel only) these are specific to Sony X-80J 65 inch

Thanks a lot Pritam Ji for suggesting me to use a balanced cable with my Moondrop Aria IEMs and thanks a lot for ordering Moondrop Aria filters for me. The Audio Store goes out of the way to serve Indian audiophile community.
The way my IEMs sound with a balanced cable and Shanling UA2 Plus DAC & Amp are unprecedented!
I am grateful Pritam Ji. 🙏🏻
