The HiBy R8 II is a high-end Android digital audio player (DAP) that has garnered attention for its premium features and robust performance. However, as with any product, it has its strengths and weaknesses. Here’s a critical review of the HiBy R8 II:
Design and Build Quality
Strengths:
- **Premium Materials:** The HiBy R8 II boasts a solid build with high-quality materials such as aluminum alloy, giving it a premium feel and durability.
- **Elegant Design:** The design is sleek and modern, with a well-thought-out layout that includes a large, high-resolution touchscreen, physical buttons, and a volume wheel.
- **Portability:** Despite its robust build, the R8 II is relatively portable and can be easily carried in a bag or large pocket.
Weaknesses:
- **Weight:** The premium materials contribute to a heavier device, which may not be ideal for users seeking ultra-portability.
- **Size:** Its larger size compared to some other DAPs might not be suitable for users with smaller hands or those who prefer more compact devices.
Sound Quality
**Strengths:**
- **High-Resolution Audio:** The R8 II supports a wide range of high-resolution audio formats, offering pristine sound quality with excellent detail, clarity, and dynamic range.
- **Powerful Amplification:** It comes with a powerful built-in amplifier capable of driving demanding headphones and IEMs with ease.
- **Sound Customization:** The device offers extensive sound customization options, including a sophisticated equalizer and various sound enhancement features.
Weaknesses:
- **Sound Signature:** While the sound quality is generally excellent, some users may find the default sound signature to be slightly colored or not neutral enough for their tastes. This is subjective and can be adjusted through the equalizer, but it’s worth noting.
- **Heat Generation:** The powerful amplification and processing can cause the device to heat up during extended use, which may be uncomfortable for some users.
User Interface and Features
**Strengths:**
- **Android OS:** Running on a customized version of Android, the R8 II offers a familiar and user-friendly interface with access to a wide range of apps via the Google Play Store.
- **Connectivity:** Extensive connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C, and balanced outputs, provide flexibility for various use cases.
- **Battery Life:** The battery life is commendable, offering several hours of continuous playback, depending on usage and settings.
**Weaknesses:**
- **Software Stability:** Some users have reported occasional software glitches and stability issues, which can detract from the overall user experience. Firmware updates may address these issues, but they are worth considering.
- **Learning Curve:** The extensive features and customization options can be overwhelming for new users, requiring a learning curve to fully utilize the device’s capabilities.
Price and Value
**Strengths:**
- **Feature-Rich:** The R8 II is packed with features that justify its high price tag, making it a compelling option for audiophiles seeking a comprehensive and high-performance DAP.
- **Build and Sound Quality:** The premium build and excellent sound quality make it a worthwhile investment for serious music enthusiasts.
**Weaknesses:**
- **High Cost:** The R8 II is positioned at the high end of the market, making it a significant investment. Potential buyers need to weigh the cost against their specific needs and budget.
- **Competitive Market:** There are several other high-end DAPs available that offer similar features and performance, potentially providing better value for some users.
Conclusion
The HiBy R8 II is an impressive high-end Android digital audio player that excels in build quality, sound performance, and feature set. It is well-suited for audiophiles who demand the best in portable audio. However, its high price, occasional software issues, and potential learning curve may be drawbacks for some users. Ultimately, the R8 II is a strong contender in the premium DAP market, but prospective buyers should carefully consider their specific needs and preferences before making a purchase.

Thank you for choosing HiBy, The Audio Store and we hope you continue to enjoy using the R8 II.
I have been using this sweet device for a month & let me tell you, it is eye-opening. The learning curve has been rather steep for me since this this is my first real DAC. This is like learning to drive for the first time but you only have a V12 Ferrari. This flagship has 2 types of Amplifiers, A & AB. I have left it on A because it sounds most natural. This device is heavy, almost twice as heavy as a high end mobile, so it is not something ultra-portable. The form factor of this is like a big mobile & twice as thick. What is amazing is that for the features & quality it has, should not be possible in such a form factor. It should have been the size of a big CD player of old, but it is tiny for its features. That tells me technology has come a LOOONG way for the audiophile from the days of Vinyl & tape, then CD, now DAC. I play it via computers, Bluetooth receivers & standalone through Blessing 3 IEM. The journey of the modern audiophile has begun, for me. I still have CD & Vinyl & tapes of old & new artists. The Hiby R8 II adds yet another dimension to this.
We're thrilled to hear that you are enjoying your HiBy R8 II Hi-End Android Digital Audio Player and that it has been a game-changing experience for you. We understand that the learning curve may have been steep, especially as a first-time DAC user, but we're glad you were able to navigate through it. The A amplifier indeed offers a more natural sound, and we're glad you found your preference.
Thank you for acknowledging the quality and features of our flagship device, and we're pleased that it has exceeded your expectations. Technology has certainly come a long way, and we're proud to be at the forefront of providing top-notch audio experiences. We hope you continue to enjoy your HiBy R8 II and explore the endless possibilities it offers.
Happy listening!

It's truly velvetty- If I can say so. Good for IEM's with large nozzles .

Delivery on time, Good product, Happy to purchase overall

I own a Simgot ET142. Wanted a pure planar and my choices were the Letshouer S12Pro , 7Hz Timeless and the Sivga Nightingale.
The Sivga isn’t available in India.
The Letshouer reviews had me confused between the S12 and its upgrade the S15.
The 7Hz was a notch lower compared to the Letshouers.
Finally I decided to pitch in for the S15 considering that the audio store has a sale on it and the pricewas better than that offered on HPZ and Conceptkart and Desertkart.
I am happy with my gamble.
Bass , Mids and treble are all aligned perfectly to my preferences. A mild V shaped profile. Rich warm bass and smooth trebles without harshness.
Thank you Audio store.

Pre-ordered the Top pro and received it in a week.
IEM is Excellent
The bass is there, doesn't overwhelm but when it hits you can feel in the chest
Treble is the smoothest I've heard
Vocals are clean
Seperation is top notch

Worth.

The sound is fucking great for the price….the voices rock..bass is not over justified….balanced and provides according to track, one downside because of which I’m rating 4..is the fit…hurts my ears even after 1 hr….might adjust to different ear shapes of diff ppl..overall satisfied for the money….if u skip bass….it kills the market opponents like realme air 7 pro and one plus buds 4 also one more thing ..the case feels a bit cheap…and might get scratched ez..and since it’s quite uncommon set of buds…u don’t get any protective cases as such

TANCHJIM Bunny has an excellent sound signature to start with - clean, energetic and fun it works beautifully with jazz, R&B, hip-hop and even bollywood music. But it's possibilities just start there. Once you connect these IEMs to your phone and download the Tanchjim app, you would discover a ton of sound profiles pre-saved. There are 4-5 official sound signatures, but even more are the access to thousands of fan created sound signatures. You can tune it to any of the hundreds of IEMs available - everyday a new IEM, if you like. The play opportunities are endless. The build could be better - looks kind of cheap compared to the solid metal body of the Chu 2, but no complaints as far as sound goes.

Exceptional delivery by theaudiostore.
The packaging was really well done.
The Bunnys blew my mind when I first used it, it sounds so much clear than my Airpods Pros!
Anyone getting their first IEMs go for this!

The build quality is sturdy & good. The new design is nice. Work well without any hissing noise or heating. Using it on my CMF Phone 1 🙌✨

Adequate purchase, best sound you will hear.
Probably double volume than TWS.
Looks seriously different than other headphones I have used till now, you look different than rest of the crowd(in the gym especially), that makes you feel special 😊☺️

Must go for it Bluetooth & DAC AMP

- Audiocular SPARK DAC is one of the best looking dongle DAC I can find also the audio quality it throws it's just supirior to any normal phone or pc DAC.
-Well there is lot of DAC with same configuration but on higher price this one feels premium and it's just under 1000 bucks so I don't think so you need anything else as a beginner or anywhere for regular use it's best of best.

- I was really confused between salnotes zero 2 and moondrops chu 2. After lot of thinking and chatgpt decided to go for Chu 2 well my initial experience was not good because I was using realme airbuds 5 pro which is a great wireless earphone dual drivers but mostly bass heavy so chu 2 bass felt lacking at start but it's just initial expression once I got comfortable with it is blown my mind cause it's really well balanced you can hear good amount of sound seperation bass is good and don't leak into the other instrument details or vocals.
- I purchased it with audiocular spark DAC
And honestly it's deadly combo it improves so much sound quality and bass and on top of that the fit of chu 2 and cable is really good and with this DAC it feels aesthetically pleasing as well.

Awesome Product...

Awesome headset
